courses & aid stations

AID STATION

There will be one Aid Station (See map).  The 50 milers will pass it twice (1 time each way) and 33-milers will pass once.  Sport and Beginners will not pass any aid stations.  Aid Stations will have self-serve water, self-serve energy drinks, water and sodas in cups and other donations.  Please do not depend on these aid stations as your sole source of fuel/nutrition for the entire race.  Although we will attempt to have adequate supplies for all participants they may be gone when you arrive.

50-Mile Endurance Course Route

Start in the town of Dolores riding west > Enter the McPhee Overlook Trail at the west end of town > Right on Bean Canyon Trail > Right on Boggy Draw Trail > Start Mavericks trail > Right on Italian Trail > Left on Mavericks cutoff trail from Italian Trail > Right on Mavericks Trail > Right on Boggy Draw trail > Right on Bean Canyon trail to bottom > Right on McPhee Overlook Trail back to town.  Basically you do a lollypop with the McPhee Overlook Trail then all trails at Boggy Draw counterclockwise then return on the McPhee Overlook trail.  

Distance = 50 Miles, Elevation Gain 5400', Course Highlighted Red on the map below.








































33-MILe Expert Course Route

Start in the town of Dolores > Climb roads to the Boggy Draw trailhead (parking lot) > Start Mavericks trail (No Italian Canyon Trail) > Right on Boggy Draw trail > Right on Bean Canyon trail > Right on McPhee Overlook Trail back to town.  Basically you do Mavericks trail, Boggy Draw Trail, Bean Canyon Trail and McPhee Overlook Trail counterclockwise.  

Distance 33 Miles, Elevation Gain 4000', Course Highlighted Red on the map below.











































18-Mile Sport Course Route

Start in the town of Dolores > Climb roads to the Boggy Draw trailhead (parking lot) > Mavericks trail > Right on Italian Trail > Left on Mavericks cutoff trail from Italian Trail > Right on Mavericks Trail > Left on Boggy Draw trail back to trailhead > Roads back to town.  Basically you do Mavericks trail and Italian trail taking the cutoff trail by the pond back to Mavericks to get more miles.  You will not pass any aid stations.

Distance = 18 Miles, Elevation Gain 2100', Course Highlighted Red on the map below.






































13-Mile Beginner Course Route

Start in the town of Dolores > Climb roads to the Boggy Draw trailhead (parking lot) > Mavericks trail > Left on Boggy Draw trail back to trailhead > Roads back to town. Basically you do Mavericks trail.  You will not pass any aid stations.

Distance = 13 Miles, Elevation Gain 1400', Course Highlighted Red on the map below.
